Pavlov
As early as in 15th century Pavlov was the biggest viticultural village in the Mikulov Dominion. The beautiful wine cellars with baroque gables perfectly document the wealth of viticulturists of that era. However, rich Pavlov citizens did not build only wine cellars. The most famous sight of the region – ruins of the Děvičky Castle – tower above the village. Pavlov has also been recorded in archaeology textbooks. It is a location where great archaeological sites proving settlements dating back as far as to the times of mammoth hunters were discovered. Considering the abundance of findings, the culture of mammoth hunters from the late Stone Age was given the scientific name of “pavlovien”. In the last years Pavlov has also become known for its countryside and possibility to spend holidays doing water sports. Pavlov is located in the Pálava Natural Preserve, in the close vicinity of the third reservoir forming a part of the Nové Mlýny Waterworks. Thanks to the wharf located under the village, the name of the village has become widespread amongst yachtsmen from the whole Czech Republic.

Lednice-Valtice Resort
Valtice and Lednice – the two centres of this beautiful resort which has been registered in the UNESCO World Cultural and Natural Heritage List since 7 December 1996 – are connected (like connected vessels) by a path lined by the Bezruč Alley from 1715. The irregular shape of this micro-region, the Lednice-Valtice Resort, featuring the area of 283.09 square kilometres borders with Austria in the south and with the Pálava Natural Preserve in the west. The Dyje River forms the borders of this resort in the north and east. Since 2003 Lednice and its surroundings have been a part of the DOLNÍ MORAVA Biospheric Preserve.

An integral part of the national cultural heritage. Following its complicated development – from a gothic fortress to a renaissance, baroque and subsequently neo-classical castle – we can currently admire the last refurbishment representing a historicist neo-gothic style from 1846-1858. It represents the work of Wingelmüller, an architect from Vienna, as well as his successor, Heidrich. The interiors are decorated with panel ceilings, carved panel linings and door frames as well as detached staircases.

Nové Mlýny Waterworks
The Nové Mlýny Waterworks were constructed in 1975 - 1988 in the area at the junction of Dyje, Jihlava and Svratka Rivers (area: 3,226 ha). The Nové Mlýny Waterworks consist of three water reservoirs out of which the first one (Mušov Reservoir) and third one (Nové Mlýny Reservoir) serve for holiday purposes while the second one (Věstonice Reservoir) is an ornithological preserve. The Nové Mlýny Waterworks offer – in addition to relaxation stays – numerous possibilities of spending pleasant holidays such as surfing, yachting, tennis, volleyball, cultural events (outdoor cinema, balls, etc.). Furthermore, this area has become one of the most significant fishing locations in Southern Moravia. Last but not least, numerous archaeological sites are also located in close vicinity of the Nové Mlýny Waterworks.
